This week was particularly meaningful on the farm as we transplanted our retail baskets for the market. Around 1999 Cathy, the matriarch of Saunderskill Farm Market asked for valuable greenhouse space on the farm to try a few combo baskets for retail. Cathy originally crafted these baskets with carefully selected plug combinations, which Dan and David have refined over the years to suit the best formality and growing success for our customers. Cathy passed away in May of 2020, we continue to plant her combinations unchanged, perhaps with a few additional experiments in true Cathy fashion. Her original combinations remain our favorites.This allows our family to cherish her memory and hold it dear as we witness these flowers flourish and blossom each spring. She still is such an inspiration, planting and watching these combos grow connects us with her in such a deep way.
